Busy Meter Guide

Setup guide

Add your meter

The app only drives meters you've claimed. That way, coworkers on the same Wi-Fi never drive each other's meters. You claim a meter once; the app remembers it even if its Wi-Fi address changes.

Over USB (easiest) #

  1. Plug the meter into your PC with the USB-C cable from the box.
  2. Setup opens on the first start. If it's closed, right-click the tray icon and choose Set up a meter….
  3. Step 1, Plug in, finds the meter by itself ("Looking for a meter on USB…").
  4. Step 2: the meter flashes red and blue so you can tell which one it is. Click Use this meter.
  5. Step 3: choose Stay on USB or Add to Wi-Fi. See USB or Wi-Fi.
  6. Step 4: turn on the sources you use, then finish. You can change all of this later in Settings.

Nothing found? Try another USB port and another cable: some USB-C cables only charge and can't carry data.

A meter that's already on your Wi-Fi #

For example a meter by a door, set up with the setup hotspot, or one set up on another PC.

  1. Make sure this PC is on the same Wi-Fi network as the meter.
  2. In setup step 1 click Find it on Wi-Fi, or open Settings › Meters and look under Found on your Wi-Fi. A meter you just set up can take a minute to appear; click Search again if needed.
  3. Click Flash and tap to claim. The meter flashes.
  4. Tap the meter's touch pad (the top of the meter) while it flashes, within 30 seconds. The app says "Got it" and the meter is yours.

If the meter isn't listed, use Not listed? Add it by IP address: type the meter's address (your router's device list shows it) and click Add. If no tap is seen in time, click Try again.

More than one meter #

You can claim several meters, for example one on your desk and one by the door. They all show the same level. Add another with Settings › Meters › Add a meter.

Find a meter, or remove it #

In Settings › Meters each meter has a card:
