Flash your meter
Put the meter's software back the way it left the factory: WLED with the Busy Meter setup (LED layout, levels, touch pad and setup hotspot). Use it to set up a DIY Kit or a meter built from the Print Files, or to fix a meter that won't start or says it "isn't set up as a Desk or Doorway".
This browser can't flash a meter. Open this page in Chrome or Edge on a desktop or laptop. Phones, Firefox and Safari can't talk to USB devices this way.
This erases the meter
Flashing erases the meter's Wi-Fi settings and your saved look. The app puts your look back when it reconnects; Wi-Fi needs setting up again.
Before you start
- Chrome or Edge on a desktop or laptop. Phones, Firefox and Safari can't do this.
- A USB-C data cable. No cable comes in the box, and many cables only charge.
- Quit the Busy Meter app on this computer (right-click the tray icon › Quit Busy Meter). It holds the meter's USB port.
- Plug the meter into this computer with the cable.
Choose your edition
The flasher isn't live yet: it opens here once the meter's software is ready.
Meter not in the port list?
Try a different USB-C cable that carries data (many only charge) and another USB port. Use Chrome or Edge, with the Busy Meter app closed.
If the meter still doesn't show up, email hello@thebusymeter.com and we'll help.
After flashing
- Unplug the meter and plug it back in. It glows yellow while it starts.
- Start the Busy Meter app. Your meter reconnects over USB. If the look isn't right, open Settings › Look and click Save to meters.
- For Wi-Fi, use Settings › Meters › Set up Wi-Fi (see Set up Wi-Fi).
